Cafe Fever

Cafe Fever is an independent cafe and bakery in Artesia, and its whole case rests on ingredients. Ceremonial-grade organic matcha, unrefined organic cane sugar, natural butter brought in from New Zealand and France, and chocolate from Valrhona and Callebaut. That list explains why the scones are the thing people drive out for. There is a matcha scone, a matcha and pistachio and white chocolate one, a matcha and red bean butter version, and a matcha and raspberry jam butter version, which between them make a strong argument for ordering more than you need. On the drinks side the matcha runs long. An organic matcha cloud, an organic double matcha, a ceremonial grade latte, a matcha tonic, a strawberry version, a matcha ruby, and a matcha s'more, plus a forest cream latte for anybody who wants the coffee side. Basque cheesecake and cookies fill out the counter. We would go for the matcha ruby and take a box of scones home, and we have never managed to leave with fewer than four.
