The Scoop
Chafinity Tea House invites you to step into a space designed for pause, and it is rooted in Chadō, the Japanese way of tea. Guests are offered thoughtfully prepared tea and seasonal Japanese sweets in what the house calls a spirit of care and hospitality. The buying follows from that. Teas come from dedicated farmers and artisans in Japan who have spent generations at the craft, and each bowl is prepared with intention, honoring the land, the farmer and the shared moment. Kentaro Chiba built it after his wife encouraged him to honor his Japanese lineage, and his mother connected him to an organic farmer in Kagoshima. It is husband and wife owned, and that farm relationship is the basis of the whole place. You will find it at The Camp on Bristol Street in Costa Mesa, between East Borough and Seed Peoples Market. Hours are nine to three most days, closed Tuesday, and nine to nine on Friday and Saturday, so an evening bowl is possible at the weekend. We would give it more time than you would give a cafe.
