The Scoop
The downtown Couplet is on South Figueroa, which puts it among the office towers and makes it the group's most straightforwardly useful room on a weekday. Ise matcha from Japan runs the board here, bananas-and-cream matcha and all, alongside the single-origin Peruvian coffee that Couplet also sells wholesale. Figueroa is busy with people who need something quickly, and Couplet's color is a welcome interruption to a street of grey glass. Saero is a walk away in the Historic Core if you want to compare a Japanese ceremonial grade against Couplet's Ise. We would do exactly that.
