The Los Angeles room sits on East 1st Street inside the Miyako Hotel, in the middle of Little Tokyo. It runs the current owner bread and cafe menus side by side, with four matcha drinks and two matcha pastries shared by all three California branches. Matcha Mochi Anpan pairs a soft matcha bun with chunky red bean and mochi; Matcha Sunrise adds a thin matcha cookie crust. The cafe menu also carries Banana Creme Matcha Latte, Matcha Sea Salt Coldbrew, Matcha Rose Latte, and Matcha Latte. Everything on the shelf came out of the oven that morning, and the owner recommends eating the additive- and preservative-free bread the day it is bought. DTLA opens daily at 7:00am.
