That's What She Said, TWSS on the sign, is a late-night matcha cafe on West 8th in Koreatown, and it is vaguely themed around The Office. There are couches, house music playing, and photos of Dwight and Jim on the wall. The point of it is the hours. Specialty matcha and coffee, plus sparkling nonalcoholic cocktails, served with bar energy long after every other cafe on the block has locked up. At night the room goes over to soft red lighting and turns genuinely moody. The matcha is ceremonial grade and the flavors go further than most: ube and matcha together, strawberry, banana cream, a plain latte and a matcha einspanner. They also do cakes in a cup, in ube matcha and strawberry shortcake and tiramisu. There is free parking, which in Koreatown is close to a miracle. We come here when the evening needs somewhere to go and nobody wants a drink.
