The Melrose Avenue cafe opened on September 1, 2015 and was Verve's first West Hollywood address, on the stretch between the Troubadour and Santa Monica Boulevard. Commune Design, the studio behind the Ace Hotel properties in Los Angeles and Palm Springs, built it around a wrap around patio with large airy windows and doors, leather backed chairs and green suede couches inside, and butterfly chairs out on the patio. The look they were after was Californian bohemian, worn in and easy to walk into. Colby Barr said they took the block because they wanted to do something different, and the patio is the reason we would plan a morning around this one. The full matcha lineup is served here, from the hand whisked Usucha to the Matcha Cortado, the Matcha Cappuccino and the Matcha Latte. Verve has since refreshed the interior and posts current photos of it on the locations page. Lucques, smoke.oil.salt and The Hart and the Hunter are all close by if the coffee turns into lunch, and the cafe opens at 7am daily.
