The Scoop
Alfred opened in the Malibu Country Mart on May 23, 2022, as the brand's thirteenth Los Angeles cafe. The opening week came with free frisbees and a limited trucker hat embroidered with a surfboard, sold for the Malibu Foundation. Cross Creek Road is the one Alfred where the drive is part of the point, and we would build a whole afternoon around it. Doors open at 7 am and the Country Mart courtyard gives you somewhere to sit with a cup. The matcha menu is the full one, and the iced matcha americano, matcha whisked with water over ice, is the order that suits a hot Malibu afternoon best.
