Dorala opened on West Olympic in the summer of 2026, and it landed well: the unit is in the same building as Alfred Coffee, a couple of doors along, which makes the two an easy back to back on a Sawtelle morning. Validated parking comes with it, which on this stretch counts for a lot. Doors are open Tuesday through Sunday, 9:30am to 8:30pm, closed Mondays, and dogs are allowed. The entire drinks board is matcha, twelve of them, poured from ichibancha sourced in Yame, Fukuoka. What we would plan around is the dorayaki, filled to order, because the Double Matcha version puts matcha cream and matcha whipped cream in the same pancake and makes the clearest case on the menu for the tea they buy. Sawtelle has filled up with matcha, so it helps to know that Motoring Coffee is a few blocks west along Olympic and Bonsai Coffee Bar is up on Santa Monica Boulevard, both close enough to turn one stop into an afternoon.
