FEBE Coffee is where Orange County's matcha nerds go to geek out over powder quality and layered fruit drinks, and its own note is that every drink is hand-made by the baristas and staff. The Einspanner signatures are the headline at seven dollars for sixteen ounces, in both coffee and matcha, and the Ube Matcha Einspanner is the one reviewers have called their favorite drink outright. The wider board runs deep into Asian-inspired flavors, with ube and pandan turning up beside the matcha and black sesame close behind. Pure teas, sparkling teas, milk teas and ice-blended drinks each get their own price tier. The room is minimalist. Seating runs indoors and outdoors, with stools and benches set against several styles of table, and the whole place is laptop-friendly, which in a university town matters as much as the drinks. We would settle in for a while.
