Goodboybob came to Highland Avenue in 2021 as the second shop, four years after the Santa Monica original. It opens at 6 am on weekdays, the earliest door in the group, and runs to 2 pm during the week and 4 pm at weekends. That 6 am open is what we would build a Manhattan Beach morning around, since it puts a stone-ground matcha in your hand before the Strand gets going. The matcha comes from Spirit Tea in Chicago and turns up in the Volcanic Matcha under vanilla bean cream and volcanic black salt, and in the Guava Lava Matcha on a house-made guava and marzipan syrup. The plain iced matcha latte is a 16 ounce pour if the walk is a long one.
