The Rowland Heights Junbi is on Gale Avenue and is the busiest-reviewed of the California rooms, which tells you how firmly it has taken hold in the San Gabriel Valley. Uji matcha from the farm the founders visit personally runs the board, with the yuzu and dragon fruit ceremonial matcha leading it. Dumbstruck has a City of Industry room a short way along Gale Avenue, which makes a genuinely good two-stop matcha route out of a part of the county that rarely gets one. We would do both in a morning and compare a single-farm Uji against a ceremonial-only house policy, which is a more interesting tasting than it sounds.
