The Studio City Rok takes the ultra-premium Uji ceremonial matcha over the hill, which the Valley has been waiting for. The name comes from chorok, the Korean word for green, and the matcha lives up to it. Strong-profile and grassy, with the dessert drinks built on that base. Ventura Boulevard runs through Studio City and Yala is on the same street, so a two-cafe Valley morning is straightforward from here. We rate it as the Valley's most serious matcha of the five Rok rooms, mostly because it has the least competition and still behaves as though it has plenty.
